Xenon light is most modern lightning technology. There is no light bulbs in the xenon headlamps, the light source is a burner discharge. This is a bubble of glass fitted with two electrodes and filled with noble gas – xenon (hence the name). The light source is based on the xenon bulb and producing high-voltage converter.
Xenon lights provide light similar to daylight, and provide it three times more in comparison with halogen. Therefore provide the highest level of safety on the road. Xenon lights consume over 50% less energy and have a seven times longer durability.
WHAT THE RULES SAY?
If the car has xenon headlamps pre-installed, then in order to undergo the approval process it should be equipped with high-pressure washers or wipers and have a self-leveling system. However, this applies for buying a new car. In the case of modifications, the regulations do not say anything about the special requirements for xenon lamps. The Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of December 16, 2003 speaks only about their quantity, light color, location, switching method, visible light-shadow limit, lighting settings and lighting intensity. There is no distinction between ordinary and unloading lights, there is also no self-leveling and cleaning.
It follows that additional systems are not required (but of course possible to be installed). While the cleaning system is quite easy to implement and rather needed (dirt gathering on the headlight glazing limits the stream of light and disperses it, causing it to blinding others). The self-leveling system is very expensive and difficult to implement. Most cars are equipped with an electric equalizer for setting the lights in the driver’s cabin, so being aware of having very strong lights, it can be a good idea to adjust the settings in the case of rear load. In practice, lens lenses converted to xenon external are impossible to distinguish from factory xenon. Well set light will not be dazzled.
